Local Mother–Daughter CyberHero Team to Participate in MLK Youth Extravaganza
Aqueelah Emanuel, founder of AQ’s Corner and author of the children’s book Emani and the CyberHero Response Team, and her daughter, business partner and co-author of the book, have been invited by The Group Theory to participate in the MLK Youth Extravaganza in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
The mother–daughter team will be sharing space at The Group Theory’s table, where they will offer families a quick 5-minute Cyber Detective activity. In addition, children will be able to take home CyberHero Pledge cards, and copies of Emani and the CyberHero Response Team will be available for purchase. Families are encouraged to stop by whether they plan to purchase a book or simply want to say hello.
The MLK Youth Extravaganza brings together families from across the community to celebrate youth, learning, and leadership. Emanuel’s work focuses on creating approachable, low-pressure opportunities for families to engage with digital topics in ways that feel accessible and welcoming.
“Our goal is to create a small moment of confidence for kids and families,” said Emanuel. “Even a few minutes can spark curiosity, conversation, and connection.”
In addition to family-focused activities, AQ’s Corner is available for future collaborations and events offering cybersecurity and AI activities designed for families and senior groups.
